THESE LOVELY CHARACTERS WERE CHOSEN FOR THEIR PERSONALITY. THERE ARE MANY TYPES OF LOCAL PEARS IN JULIAN FROM TRADITIONAL BARTLETT'S TO BOSQUE TO THE CADILLAC OF PEARS. THE U-PICK SITES IN JULIAN ARE MANY DURING THE FALL SEASON. AND THE VARIETY IS ASTOUNDING.
I HAD THE UNIQUE EXPERIENCE THIS YEAR TO TASTE CRISPY SWEET AS WELL AS CREAMY JUICY VARIETIES. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE EXPERIENCE NEXT SEASON!

Hello from the rural town of Julian in the San Diego mountains of California.
Today the winds are high and dry as we enter the winter.....
My lovely friend Mary is here visiting from Frezno and has helped me to get this locavore blogspot happening! Muchas gracias Maria!
At this November's end, we have a new fullswing Farmers Market which is the place where I will go to buy most of my weeks groceries.....eggs, bread, fruits, vegetables, honey....
all created within a 50 mile radius!
The foundation for a healthy diet is right within your reach if you venture out to your local farmers market....and all is organic for me, and probably could be for you as well.
